This all-in-one audio line tester is perfect for a wide range of applications, from live sound events to maintenance and installation work, and any situation where audio travels through a cable. The Qbox is a versatile tool, equipped with a microphone, a speaker, and a test tone generator. It also features outputs for standard headphones and a 1/4" jack for line-in or a 2k Ohm (telephone) earpiece out. A convenient clip allows for easy attachment to your belt or equipment rack, making it a portable solution for on-the-go audio professionals. With the Qbox, you can generate or listen to audio at any point in your system, from the microphones to the power amps. This allows for quick and efficient confirmation of working sections and identification of any issues. The Qbox can also check dynamic mics and cables without the need to activate the entire system. The built-in microphone or tone generator can be used at three different levels, making it easy to activate a signal path or identify a specific cable in a pile of cable ends. The Qbox is powered by a single standard 9V alkaline battery and is housed in rugged ABS, ensuring durability and reliability even in demanding fieldwork conditions. For an instant hands-free intercom, simply plug in headphones and connect one Qbox at each end of a line. The Qbox can also be used to monitor a standard 3-wire intercom feed, with LEDs confirming the presence of intercom or phantom power. The Source section of the Qbox allows you to send a tone or the signal from the built-in condenser mic at mic or line levels. The Speaker volume control lets you confirm incoming signals at mic or line level, while a handy Monitor switch allows the user to listen to a balanced signal or to two separate unbalanced signals on pin 2 or 3 (referenced to pin 1), such as a two-channel intercom. A Split switch disconnects the two XLRs from each other, allowing the tone or internal mic to be sent out of one XLR while you listen to what's coming back on the other. Alternatively, connect the XLRs together for a "loop-through" or daisy-chain units.
