- NURSE WITH WOUND sound manipulator Colin Potter dredges a killer session of jerry-rigged industrial curios from the archive, produced in 1981 with Steve Parry and long forgotten until a chance meeting in a York pub of pints and memory prompted it's retrieval. 'Womb' was first realized in 1981 around the time Potter lived north of York in ancient kings' hunting grounds and would begin crafting one of the most distinctive catalogues in UK industrial/post-punk, self-released via his ICR label, years prior to joining NURSE WITH WOUND. Together with classically-trained guitarist and avant-garde autodidact Steve Parry, he created the restless, eerie batch of metallic polyrhythms, fractured avant-blooz and subaquatic noise klangs now titled 'Womb', which, with benefit of hindsight, roughly resemble aspects of Craig Leon's 'Nommos' from the same year, or even far out John Fahey experiments, and early NWW and Robert Rental spectres - although they were quite unaware of all the above at the time. Classic 80s British early experielectronics, brought back to life.
