- Hex Effects is a dynamic “take that” card game of strategic sabotage, clever timing, and quick decision-making. Inspired by the mechanics of Side Effects and featuring all-new artwork from Pillbox Games, this fast and engaging tabletop experience challenges players to clear the Hexes displayed in front of them, known as their Shadow. Each game begins by dealing four face-up Hex cards to every player, setting the stage for a tense race to recovery. The remaining Hexes are shuffled into the deck, and each player starts with four concealed cards in hand. On every turn, players draw two cards and select two actions, with the primary goal of treating their Hexes using Remedy cards. But every Remedy comes with a twist: each one cures a specific Hex while exposing the player to new potential side effects—additional Hexes that opponents may exploit. This creates a constantly shifting battlefield of cures, counter-moves, and strategic opportunities.
